Gilt bronze, size 7 ¼ with 2.2mm band flaring to the shoulders. The oval bezel inscribed with the figure of a mythological bird and a matrix, perhaps a cage, beyond. Probably used as a signet ring. The surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold overlay restored and gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
